Rejoice! Finally have this classic on vinyl and saved myself the $200 I nearly spent on the original... Anyway, my copy is flat, no noticeable surface noise and really bangs. Nice reissue. Flat vinyl, gatefold sleeve. Soundwise it's good too. Wanted to have this forever.
Bought my copy new and absolutely love this pressing! Dead quiet floor but ripping musically. Highly recommended for the pressing and packaging
Edited 2 years agoBought my copy 2nd hand off eBay in 2014. It’s noisy and chatty but still sounds great. Don’t know if the noise issue is just my copy? I paid under $75 and I’m not disappointed but just a heads up that for the money and by this point in time, you’re probably not getting a clean copy if there ever was one.
So update: I’m now playing this record on the same Pro-Ject the classic sb but I upgraded the sub-platter for the aluminum, changed the cartridge from the Sumiko Blue Point no.2 to an Ortofon 2m bronze ran through a Marantz pm8006 out to 6 KEF Q350’s and this record is incredible. It still has some noise and dirt I just can’t get rid of but my mind is blown. I seriously thought about cashing out and trying to get $200-$250 for my copy but as my wife just told me it’s a record that’ll be pried out of our cold dead hands. The money isn’t worth it. I’m inclined to agree and I’m glad I have someone kick ass enough to tell not to be a stupid f*ck and sell my Mclusky.
In a stragne kind of way, listening to this album makes me happy. God bless mclusky! They were a great band and I miss them still...
