Laurent Veronnez very rarely fails to impress with his many guises. His Green Martian moniker has seen some solid releases, it's a shame he didn't carry it on.
I have been trawling my old record boxes and found this along with many other LV tunes. Ladies & Gentlemen is a dark techy trancer with a rolling bass and soft, almost sinister, synth and strings coming and going in the background.
Like Harmonic Minor there is not much of an actual 'melody' but it doesn't lose anything from that. The sounds that are used here, in isolation, would sound random and disjointed, but with the brilliant sequencing that Laurent brings to the table it means every single one of those otherwise random noises flows together in to a storming tune that keeps you going right to the end.
The digivox sample "introducing the latest act" just adds to the unique oddness.
You get a breakdown and a brief respite before it rolls right back in to normal service with about a third of the tune to go. You almost get the feeling that it's running out of steam around 7 mins and then there is a buzz and a new set of claps and snares come in making it seem a bit refreshed and ready for the final push.
Played this at many club nights back in the day, right a peak time and it always had the dance floor full and the clubbers looking bemused as to why they were still dancing to something so abstract,it's just that good.referencing Ladies & Gentlemen (12", 45 RPM) BM-2003-184

The orginal and the remix are exactly the same apart from just some samples played a little louder on the remix (which I personally prefer). You get essentially one track not two but what a track it is. Dark uplifting and a definite floorfiller. For me it's probably the best record of the year.
