Melvins – Nude With Boots

Another warped copy here (but no that much). Anyway I found the sound excellent, with a lot of warmth.

I gritted my teeth and ordered a copy, I've wanted this album on vinyl forever - no warping, sounds good! COuld use a bit more bass TBH, but I am so pleased to get a perfect flat copy that I don't care so much - plays good, sounds good.

Flat copies ARE out there!

The packaging is thin and perfunctory, but acceptable. My copy came flat, no skips or major clicks. A trip through the spin clean helped open things up a bit. I wonder how a vinyl-specific remaster might help an album like this, but it's definitely better than CD quality streams on the major platforms.

I've had 2 copies of this now. First one with a warp that was flattened out. Both had an audible knocking sound during the beginning of kicking machine. The cartridge visible shudders when it hits the same spot on each copy. I love this album so I'll hang onto the better copy but it's really disappointing.

My copy is plain but sounds lifeless. Lacks stage and dynamics, the bass is a joke. A very good example of pressing a CD master to a record and avoiding skips by simply turning it down. The red vinyl is relatively noisy and has crackle all over, even washed. Wouldn recommend this at all. The album itself is ok in it's digital form, but also very compressed. Will keep this, cause of the alternative cover and the nice red vinyl. Else I only can say: Avoid this!

Does anyone know if these individual 50 letterpress copies are from the same lot as the box set edition or a separate 50?
EDIT: Confirmed through the HAT listing from this run that there should be 25 individual LPs and 25 box set copies of each.

My copy also slightly warped but plays well. Sound is great. Good pressing. Included the “12 page booklet” which is a tiny pamphlet at best. If you didn’t get it, you didn’t miss out on anything.

My copy is just a bit warped on this edge but plays fine. Seems Ipecac really didn't QC this run of the Big Biz records. When December hits, at least Senile Animal will be fixed. Maybe.

My copy came so warped it is unplayable without skipping. Pretty disappointed.
