Notes

The Cardigans' second album, released in March 1995 in Sweden and in Japan in April of the same year.

It was also their first album to see a true international release, in May 1995, their debut Emmerdale having been available only in Sweden and Japan at the time.

For the countries where Life was the band's first release, the track list was altered to include tracks from Emmerdale ('Sick And Tired', 'Rise And Shine', 'After All', 'Celia Inside' and 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath').

In return, 'Pikebubbles', 'Sunday Circus Song,' and 'Closing Time' are only available on the Swedish and Japanese releases.

        This is one of the best sounding records in my collection, and the cover looks fab, but Universal must have used some expired Elmer's to glue it together. I had to use some fresh Elmer's to re-glue the bottom seam.

          Great sound! But side B is full of noise. Maybe the best sounding record in my collection. Very clear and uncompressed

          Edit: I just cleaned it again (special fluid) and it improved a lot

                  I have mixed feelings about the original Swedish release tracklisting here.

                  While it's nice to see Emmerdale and Life released in there original arrangements, It would have been nice to have an international version as I remember it, partly for nostalgia but also because the international recordings were tighter and the inclusion of "Sick & Tired", "Rise & Shine", "Celia Inside", "After All...", and "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" from Emmerdale made it an far better balanced album as it essentially combined the best of both originals.

                  Which isn't to say that it's bad, it's just essentially a different album with the same name and artwork.

                    Fantastic sound quality. No background noise. Really comes alive with every well mixed track. Beautiful gatefold jacket and printed sleeve. My only complaint is lots of paper specks stuck in the grooves that I had to scrub out before playing. Otherwise great.

                      Sad to say this was a real bummer...read some glowing reviews of the pressing so I picked up an import copy. Right out of the gate there was noticeable distortion in the grooves on the first track...this happened on several other tracks, along with some nasty pops/bumps to boot. The music is wonderfully mastered but this pressing (at least on my copy) - while generally quiet - has a handful of scars. Also the repro print of the cover/sleeve seems not as sharp or correctly color balanced as the original. It's a really great album...shame this happened :/
