Iggy Pop & James Williamson – Kill City

I see this wasn’t the last. Bomp is selling a black vinyl version of the original Bomp Kill City mix now. Not sure if it’s in the “old stock” jackets.

This thing's been pressed on so much colored vinyl the black vinyl version's probably the rare one LOL.

Superior re-mix and remaster of the now classic album. Get any of the ones that are on Alive Records - any of the more recent represses on Bomp! (without Alive Records) are the original mix, not the remix + remaster.

Layout of the album is enhanced with additional photos on the back sleeve and a double-sided, printed inner sleeve with lyrics and photos of James Williamson and Iggy. Pressing is serviceable: although any surface noise is fairly quiet, the spindle hole is slightly off-center and there is a minor edge-warp on my copy. Still sounds great despite these minor issues.

This version has significantly superior mastering than the US Bomp! pressings. Trust me.

Amazing album, decent sounding pressing. My only gripe is that the lead in groove is erratic, causing the stylus to slide into the 1st track on both sides.

My copy has a 1977 label on the a-side and a 1978 label on the b-side

This isn't a bad version of a flawed album. Yes, the 2010 remix/remaster sounds much better. But this was the version that people judged the album by. Much muddier, but it works.

This rating is just for the poor sound-quality. I love the songs and listen to the remastered 2010 CD instead.

This indeed seems to be quite a terrible pressing, as the other reviewer notes, even though I can't compare it to other pre-remaster pressings. Just sounds off, hollow, flat
