The Cult – Ceremony

I have the standard Black pressing and it sounds excellent! Not QUITE as sharply mastered at the recent S/T on I believe was it white vinyl? But still, very dynamic and perfectly fine. Great songs!

Help! - I'm trying to find a copy of the Czech pressing of the Red/Blue Ceremony LP in Europe but cannot find anyone who has it listed correctly. The pics on this release are correct (including the "Made In Czech Republic" sticker on the rear) but much of the notes are copied from the German Optimal pressing so aren't accurate, such as the pressing and Cat#/Barcode details. https://www.discogs.com/release/27909384-The-Cult-Ceremony is the one I'm after..

I love this album and as someone else has said it must be played LOUD

Not so good for me... I have both versions, black and colored "blue/red". Both versions gives immediatly a low hum when I put the stylus on the record. I precise that it does not happen with other records and I tried it on two turntables.

Some cliks and pops as well, especially on begining of side C.

Otherwise, I agree, the sound and dynamics are pretty good ont the record.

I do not have the 91 version so I can't compare both pressings.

This version is at least 5db quieter pressing than the 91 UK pressing. Granted German pressings usually err on the "safe" side when it comes to levels in their pressings but it sure lacks the excitement and sizzle of the UK pressing. I would describe it as "flat" sounding.

This is by far the loudest of the original 1991 pressings of this album. More punch and sizzle than the rest. at least 5db louder than the german pressing

Not sure if this needed to be pressed over two discs? May have been brickwalled otherwise would be the trade off perhaps? Also needs to be in a gatefold if that’s the case. Not a fan of housing two records in a single sleeve. That said very high quality repress. Sonic wise it’s a massive step up from the recent Love remaster which is
very quiet and compressed.

Where do I get this pressing?
Amazon lists the album but doesn't specifies the colour, same as they did with the The Cult album where I got both the black and the cream vinyl.
It's going to be the same with this one?

I agree with all of the previous comments. This pressing sounds fantastic. Everything sounds full and punchy with no distortion when cranked. Totally delivers!

La primera copia que compré tenía ruido imposible de quitar ni lavándolo en húmedo, solo pude quitar parte de la estática, lo reemplace por otra copia , que está perfecta , sin ruido y bastante planos los dos discos , por eso recomiendo que sí alguno le sale una copia con ruidos que influye en la música, debería descambiarlo. Un vinilo nuevo tiene que sonar bien, que son muy caros, ya está bien de que nos vendan auténticas basuras que parecen que tengan 100 años usados en discotecas.... Y con fundas antiestáticas , que las de papel dejan rozaduras y con el tiempo partículas de papel ....Buena escucha a todos ....
