When this dropped I was mesmerized, and I memorized Chuck’s eye opening lines about Nike and how big corporations exploit without giving any of the wealth back.
“I like Nike, but wait a minute.
The neighborhood supports, so put some money in it.

You can’t tell me this isn’t an absolutely essential 12! Not only is it the dopest song P.E. ever recorded. But it also comes with one of Pete Rock’s greatest remixes. And if you ever wondered where DJ Premier got the countdown he built Biggie’s “Ten Crack Commandments” from then look no further.- Which version of "Shut 'Em Down" is pressed on this record? Is it the album version or the Pete Rock remix?

This has one of the best Pete Rock Instrumentals ever; a well funky and jazzy horn lick with a nice vocal addition over rugged beats...Chuck D's uncompremising lyrics work really well over it...Pete Rock Himself even adds a verse. Classic PE.
The two b-side remixes are nice too with hard terminator x beats. Check It!
