'Back to Black' is the second studio album by English recording artist Amy Winehouse, recorded 2005–2006 and released October 4, 2006 on Island Records.

It incorporates 1960s soul music styles and modern R&B production, with subjective lyrics that concern relationships and reflect on Winehouse's experiences with drinking, sex, and drugs. The album produced several singles, including 'Rehab', 'You Know I'm No Good', 'Back to Black', 'Tears Dry on Their Own', and 'Love Is a Losing Game'.

'Back to Black' received positive reviews from most music critics, earning praise for its classicist soul influences, Salaam Remi and Mark Ronson's production, and Winehouse's songwriting and emotive singing style. At the 50th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, 'Back to Black' won five awards, tying the record (with Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, Beyoncé Knowles, Norah Jones, and Alison Krauss) for the second-most awards won by a female artist in a single ceremony. The album won Best Pop Vocal Album, while 'Rehab' won Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Song of the Year and Record of the Year with Amy Winehouse winning Best New Artist. The album was also nominated for Album of the Year. To date, 'Back to Black' has sold over 10 million copies worldwide.

A/B’d this with the CD version I have, the vinyl sounds meh… more mellow and better bottom end but kinda like there’s a blanket over the vocals and mids. The CD is thinner, but vocals are more forward and clear. TLDR: cd version with some bass boost is better than this pressing IMHO

I don't have a first pressing myself, and I've alredy been "burned" with two different sellers on this issue. The information you want is already on Discogs, one of the original pressings came apparently with a hype sticker. The problem is that only the runout numbers will tell you, al represses look exactly the same, barcode and everything. If it's sealed, it's very probably a repress.

IMO This should be listed in Format as 2 LP incl Bonus LP. I dont understand how you skip the fact that there are 2 LPs inside the sleeve!

Love this remaster, not sure why it has garnered criticism. Stunning pressing that lets Amy’s voice shine thru. I think you would be hard pressed to find a better version. second bonus disc is a gem as well, great version of Valarie.

I would say my copy is 5/5! The pressing and sound are both great! I love Amy, the deluxe version is kind of like a completion of her art "Back to Black"!

Just bought this Optimal Media pressing in a second hand record store (not sealed and used) with its release sticker. Great dynamics, no surface noises, no pressing default. A very powerful and clear sound. Very happy with my purchase and I don't understand the bad reviews below.
