Reviews
- I hear this with my Stax headphone ...WOW... what a sound !! Realy happy music !! Listen to this during your evening meal and you have the feeling that you are being played live, fantastic resarant music in your living room ...You will love this )) ENJOY !!
- I agree with previous entry:
While I might consider the music to be "elevator background" as we call it in Germany, the sound quality is marvellous and reason enough to keep it.
This is "direct disc" recording, and one can really hear the band playing together in the studio, which seems to add a particular "you're there" feeling, different from live and very different from ususal studio works. Really well done, and I guess, the pressing must be equally splendid. - One of the best sounding records I own now, and probably the best white LP I've heard (with Fiona Apple's Fetch the Bolt Cutters being a close second). It literally sounds like the band is playing in the room. Amazing LP!
- Outstanding sounding record, brilliant performance by the artists. Surface pretty noisy, although I don't exactly know how it will compare to the black recording I've purchased (which has yet to arrive) or to newer copies of the white vinyl.
- Sound dynamics of tracks A1 & A2 is extremly high. All instruments are recorded with full dynamic range. Percussion solo very impressive. The B-side is much less impressive. Dynamics seems to be compressed, transparency degraded.
- Quite possibly one of the best sounding releases I have ever heard, on any format. Highly recommended and it's so cheap! Worth its weight in gold for the sonics alone! And that drum solo... it truly has to be heard to be believed.

Does anyone know if all or any of these tracks are in stereo? The reason I'm asking is that I've just received in the mail a copy of 'Charlie Byrd, Direct Disc Recording' [Crystal Clear Records, 1977] and I'm disappointed to find that it's in mono...I was mainly after the take of Moliendo Cafe, with that great line-up, incl Bill Reinchenbach on trombone [I like it better than Byrd's original 1971 version].... so I'd like to know if this Delta1990 CD has the 1977 Moliendo take in stereo.
cheers- George [Melbourne Australia]- I got the release like in "rev: 11". Printed in W. Germany and no white vinyl...the rest is exactly the same. Are you sure about the editing? Or can you tell me something about the differences?
