This has "Bilbo Tape One" on runout. What does that mean?referencing Love Is A Stranger (12", 45 RPM, Single) DAT 1
B1 is a re-recording of track A5 on Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) ("The Walk") - sounds like quite a completely different song, it just has the same lyrics and melody.referencing Love Is A Stranger (7", 45 RPM, Single) DA 1
Does anyone know why the '91 mixes of this song are not broken into their own listing, a la "sweet dreams" 91 mixes?- This is definitely Pink vinyl and not Purple. I own two copies myself haven't seen a purple one yet!

It baffled me that Dave & Annie never did a 12" mix of this...out of all Eurythmics songs I always thought this one sounded the most nightclub dancefloor-friendly.- The Coldcut remix of "Love Is A Stranger" that appears on this
1991 remix 12" is just fantastic. It will literally light up your
dance floor like the bizznizz that it iz. Keep it on the down low
tho, we don't want everyone and their uncle snatchin em up
and stealin our secret weapons from us now matey. Shhhhhh. - Edited 8 years ago

Also released as a 7" single in South Africa: TRS 458, standard track listing, no pic sleeve on at least some copies (different label layout compared to the Zimbabwe release with the same catalogue number) referencing Love Is A Stranger (7", 45 RPM, Single) DA 1
OK all you techno afficianados, you like techno do ya? Well maybe it wouldn't hurt you to go back in time a few years and open up your mind to some of the pioneering innovations of the genre before we even started calling this electronic music techno. Case in point, "Love Is A Stranger"/"Monkey Monkey" - One side was a house track (well, sort of) that embodies all of the elements of techno music and the other is a breakbeat breakthrough that highlighted the famous 606/808 drum sound backed by a 101 doing the bassline. "Love Is A Stranger" is the "housy" one. Annie Lennox's voice doesn't carry the song or anything (the music does that, too), it propels it into the stratosphere! Sweet and at once powerful, I find it invigorating (and VERY sexy!), and the music defies any of my comparatively weak words. You just have to hear it and try to open your mind to what I'm trying to say. "Monkey Monkey" is the "breakbeat" kind of thing here and you just have to hear it to know how innovative it was back in 1983. The genre of techno familiarized us with some of the electronic production tricks but Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox pioneered the way with these tricks. Check this stuff out! And try to realize just how ahead of its time it really was!
