The Long Version could have been so much better. It's been created using the vocal and instrumental versions, which sounds like a good idea. However, during the instrumental version, Debbie's backing vocals stand alone and are pushed louder in the mix, but they don't sound nearly as good as the same section on the vocal version. This section has been edited into the Long version instead of the usual vocals and sounds flat, because it was only ever meant to be a backing vocal. Debbie doesn't even sing the full lines, trailing off mid-sentence, so it sounds pretty bad to me. This is obviously why this was only ever issued in Italy and not available to the rest of the world. It doesn't sound professional enough. This is an interesting oddity for the hardcore Blondie collectors who must have everything, but other than that, I think it's a pretty poor re-edit and better to stick to the regular 12" version.

What is the 'Basic Track' version please? Is it a stripped down version based on the original 1978 release?... or a more modern remix? I haven't been able to locate it on Youtube. An description of what it's like would be greatly appreciated.

This originally entered as being from Holland, the somebody changed it to Scandinavia. Why? Look at the photo, the label says Holland.

The Complete Studio Recordings that was advertised in this release hasn’t come out yet has it?

Really great pressing. Love the Shep Pettibone remix, with a lot of bass and drums. never heard before.

Is this really a US release? I don't think I've ever seen a small hole on a US 7", aside from those single-sided 7" Columbia used to put out, as well as some promo copies, but this doesn't seem to be that

Good remix version, doesn't detract from the original too much whilst remaining funky without being overly commercial sounding . The positiva label seems to put a lot of people off this in my opinion stands out from the catalogue as being one of the better releases. If you like that pop remix in a disco style remix for a quick boogie whilst doing the ironing.

My inner sleeve was split at both ends of the record. Kind of a bummer because the inner sleeve is part of the package design and houses the disco ball graphic viewed on the front of the record.

Great packaging and solid release. SQ is pretty good across all mixes. Agree that the Long Disco version should have been included.

A good marketing maneuver to get Debbie Harry on the label since the US 12" used a generic cover. Check out the 12" cover from France.
