This is the best pressing to get, just for orange appled.

Got both the melody maker and this for ‘orange appled’ one of my favourite twins tracks. A beauty…

Always loved the cover art on this and it’s a lovely package indeed. Great sounding quality EP.

Side a is super noisy at the end of both tracks. Side b is a lot better though. I’ve cleaned it several times with with an ultra sonic machine and it hasn’t helped at all. Other than that the record sounds great though.

Forget the A side (though it's fine) the real magic is on the B where you find Those Eyes That Mouth. Back in the day I seem to remember Simon Reynolds describing it as sounding like Liz Frazer was singing from the bottom of a well. I'm sure he put it better, and it was meant to be a compliment, but there is something in that, it has this huge shimmering, ringing sound that frames the voice like nothing else.
For my money this is the culmination of everything they had done up to this point, and everything afterwards was a slow falling away.

"those eyes that mouth" is one of CT best ever songs so this 12" is essential for fans of their sound (it was the b-side of the 7", can you imagine?)

Anyone else’s copy have the labels say 33 1/3 instead of 45rpm?

My copy of this Relativity version is pressed on dark brown translucent vinyl. It sounds superb, too. My favorite of the mid-period Cocteau singles.
