Atheist – Elements

Excellent songs & performances, however you do have to live with the indistinct "muddy" sub-bass sound that pervades the recording. The problem comes down to the way the bass drum was recorded and highlights how clarity of the double bass work was key to the "Scott Burns sound" we come to expect from classic technical & death metal albums from Death, Sepultura, Cynic, Obituary and the first 2 Atheist albums. All the other instrument layers sound great so still worth owning a copy.

I haven't heard any other versions of this, but to my ears, this is a SOLID pressing; very punchy, I can actually feel it during a listening session. I'd love to know if anyone else has heard an even better one.

Just a really killer album! My kids can fight over this one when I'm dead.

Decent press, although it does unfortunately serve to highlight how muddy the production is compared to "Unquestionable Presence". Could really do with a proper remaster!

My copy came with a sticker: First pressing on Black Vinyl. Limited to 250 copies.
Knowing this is the 2nd press i wonder if they meant first time on black vinyl?

Sound quality is awesome. Only thing dissappointing about owning this classic album before was that the production/sound quality was always poor but this is the best version I’ve heard by far. If you come across this version I highly recommend.

My first LP! I believe that this is not the first pressing but I find it good enough. Recording is too bass-y but I think that's the way they recorded it originally. And this version's bass is solid compared to digital. But I also want to hear this on CD for comparison.
