My copy has some pretty bad distortion on Kookaburra as well as on Aikea-Guinea and Quisquose. It mostly just affects the vocals, but on Kookaburra it's bad enough that the guitars sound like they're clipping. Since my copy appears to be in good shape and has barely any surface noise, is it possible I just have a bad one? Or maybe someone played it on a Crosley at some point.referencing Aikea-Guinea (12", 45 RPM, EP, Single) BAD 501
Wow... what a pressing. Clean, dynamic, lush... this is what Coteau Twins is supposed to sound like.- Edited one year ago

A curiosity: My copy has Kookaburra on both sides. Yes, also on side B, as first song, although it's not on the label. So there are three songs on it: Kookaburra, Quisquose and Rococo. There is no even room for Matrix/Runout on this side.
Are all copies of this release version the same? referencing Aikea-Guinea (12", 45 RPM, EP, Single) BAD 501
Never had any issues with my original U.K. pressing which I bought on release, it sounds amazing to this day.referencing Aikea-Guinea (12", 45 RPM, EP, Single) BAD 501
The copy of this EP that came paired with the Canadian Vertigo edition of Treasure sounds AMAZING compared to the regular UK. The Vertigo Treasure is also the best sounding of all the incarnations I've ever heard of this album. I have the UK, Japanese, 180 Vinyl, and the terrible 4AD reissue as comparisons.referencing Aikea-Guinea (12", 45 RPM, EP, Single) BAD 501
Rococo is the bee's knees here/a Cocteau Twins instrumental that starts out like the slow rising of the sun and then suddenly and out of nowhere EXPLODES into piercing beams of sunlight....referencing Aikea-Guinea (12", 45 RPM, EP, Single) BAD 501
"Aikea-guinea" is, according to Robin Guthrie, an old Scottish collaquialism for a seashell. Hence the artwork.
Kookaburra is a large Australian kingfisher bird.
