Kyuss – Welcome To Sky Valley

I don't know if you guys are aware, but this record is supposed to sound muddy. Got this pressing, sounds great, and muddy!

I got a bootleg of this album. Very interesting, doesn't seem to be documented on here. Very crappy cover quality (the back lacks any sort of credits), there's a picture sleeve (with once again very crappy picture quality) and a unique pink-ish color for the record itself. The labels are also completely different. Deadwax says "Kyuss Welcome To Sky" and a weirdly written "A" (i think) on Side A, and "Kyuss Welome To Sky" (they really did miss the c in "welcome") on Side B. As for the sound quality, it's pretty meh on my end. Nothing to write home about, as expected of a boot. I can try to get it listed on here if anyone's interested, even if I can't take the best pictures. I don't know where it's from; the Australian record store I bought it from said it was a German import and listed it with the same catalogue number as any other German issue of this album, but I feel unsure of it actually being from Germany. Not happy about unsuspectingly getting a boot (after waiting a whole month for it!), but at least I learned a valuable lesson.

EDIT: I realized that the catalogue number for this bootleg is on the sleeve. Whoops! It is the same catalogue number as any German issue. Fooled me for sure... definitely still a bootleg.

Sounds like a**, obvious typo on back of cover.. If you get it for cheap and don't care too much, it's listenable I guess.

The picture on my copy is pixelated, like someone is taken a small picture and extrapolated it to a big on. Is this like the original in 1993?

Really quiet and flat sound. Truly a shame considering that the record is an absolute masterpiece of stoner rock/metal. Just stick to streaming or the CD, don't buy this

Do not buy this pressing; unless you enjoy clicks, pops, and straight up skips in your listening. Also, is poorly mastered and noticably quiet. Upon first listen I was extremely disappointed. A complete disrespect to kyuss. I give this 1/5 stars.

Would anyone be able to comment on the sound quality of this pressing? I’ve heard that it’s good, but would be great to hear more details. Thank you.

How do you distinguish this 1999 release from the 2008 one (https://www.discogs.com/release/2518312-Kyuss-Welcome-To-Sky-Valley)? The images of the front covers available on Discogs look exactly the same to me. "KYUSS" on the front cover does not touch the powerlines...

Lot's of surface noises, clic, pop, mini scratch.. before and After cleaning with knosti.. too Bad, the sound is excellent on my system !

Sure there’s a bit more noise come having to turn this up more, but it still sounds pretty good to me. My disc certainly could not be described as flimsy. I haven’t gone as far as to weigh the thing but it feels thicc. This album in particular I don’t get distracted with a few extra pops and crackle just due to the overall dusty biker road aesthetic. Cope? Maybe, but I’m not mad about listening to this pressing!
