Kyuss – Welcome To Sky Valley

I just got my copy and it sounds disgusting. The sound is muddy and lifeless :(

How to differentiate this release from the similar 2008 release (which also has Kyuss not touching the power lines)? They are exactly the same (ignoring the sticker). If someone knows I am curious. My used copy weights about 180g so I thought I had the latest 2008 release but reading the notes of this 1999 release, it also mentions 180g so I am confused. Anyone knows? Thanks in advance

such a disaster , recording quality is very poor. Definately need another version of this awesome album

I finally found this pressing, so I was able to compare it with the previous pressings that I had (official and bootleg reissues). it's clearly incomparable, perfect soundstage separation, everything is clearly audible, don't listen to those who describe the mastering as "muddy", they must hurry to change equipment... What a treat, the best pressing what I have heard of this masterpiece!

Sounds good to me, muddy maybe...but this is Kyuss record not Steely Dan. Zero clicks on my copy. After reading all these complaints I am positively surprised.

I think this album sounds damn good!! No pops or clocks. Turn it up and let that stoner rock punch you in the chest!!!

Although this is not the most sonic sounding record out there, it’s damn good for what it’s supposed to be. Very muddy but yet packs a punch. Drums sound great, vocals sound good too and bass is on point. If your using small speakers or a small amp you may have to crank it up more than normal but it’s not terrible. Worth picking up

I got a bootleg of this album. Very interesting, doesn't seem to be documented on here. Very crappy cover quality (the back lacks any sort of credits), there's a picture sleeve (with once again very crappy picture quality) and a unique pink-ish color for the record itself. The labels are also completely different. Deadwax says "Kyuss Welcome To Sky" and a weirdly written "A" (i think) on Side A, and "Kyuss Welome To Sky" (they really did miss the c in "welcome") on Side B. As for the sound quality, it's pretty meh on my end. Nothing to write home about, as expected of a boot. I can try to get it listed on here if anyone's interested, even if I can't take the best pictures. I don't know where it's from; the Australian record store I bought it from said it was a German import and listed it with the same catalogue number as any other German issue of this album, but I feel unsure of it actually being from Germany. Not happy about unsuspectingly getting a boot (after waiting a whole month for it!), but at least I learned a valuable lesson.

EDIT: I realized that the catalogue number for this bootleg is on the sleeve. Whoops! It is the same catalogue number as any German issue. Fooled me for sure... definitely still a bootleg.
