The Rolling Stones – Through The Past, Darkly (Big Hits Vol. 2)

As a Stones fan from birth I may be biased, but as far as hit songs go, The Stones have ones that you can hear over and over again and still not get burned out. Jumping Jack Flash sounds exciting every time. I usually skip greatest hits records, but this is a good one. Plus hearing the hits for years on the radio will only blow your mind more hearing the vinyl versions on your hi-fi. The songs you thought were stale, are fresh again.

This release has fantastic sound and very wide stereo imaging.

Was looking for "She's A Rainbow" on vinyl that wasn't going to break the bank but would also not rice krispie. Spied it on this compilation when browsing through the endless comps out there. There were no reviews on here, price was right, and I'm happy to report that, after it's been sitting in my local shop's cupboard for three years, the vinyl is clean, the fidelity is pretty good, and no crackle on playback!

Those are the basics. I'm aware that there's a digital step involved and there's a slightly shrill top end in spots, but I'm happy with the sound.

Funny how Argentina called this album "El Pentágono" (the pentagon).

This version is more likely from 1981 circa. I have a version of «Get your ya-ya’s out»from 1981(ncb) witch look just like this one. Just take a look.

Mine appears to have the same markings on the dead wax (XZAL 9133-9) but the song order is different. The song order matches most all other issues of this album, whereas the list above is very different.

Uses the same -1A/-3A cut as the first two pressings. I’m a proud owner of a super strong VG+, almost Near Mint copy, just needs a cleaning. Dynamite sound, way better than the stereo counterpart
