This pressing is great. It's eeriely good. I just got this and was really impressed with itreferencing You're Living All Over Me (CD, Repress) BGR002CD
What's the deal here? Same master as the original CD, the Merge CD, or a new master? The original CD is too murky and has that unintentional pause between Kracked and Sludgefeast. The Merge CDis compressed and brickwalled to absolute death. Is this finally a good digital treatment?referencing You're Living All Over Me (LP, Album) SST 130
JUST FYI: all new pressings of everything are going to be really silent because they're almost always taken from digital tape. Listen to a Rolling Stones record that was recently remastered, like Sticky Fingers, or a cheesy rip off half speed remaster of Sticky Fingers. The new pressings are dead quite because they're taken from a digital tape of some sort, which began in the last 1970's and then Sony's 1630 Digital Cassette was the standard by the early 1980's. And everything is crystal clear, since it's digital. Good highs and good lows as digital delivers in that arena. Getting a quite record that is a brand new remastered record is not anything to write home about. Now go and listen to that original pressing (after you've cleaned the hell out of it with a system that includes ultrasonic cleaning - if tics remain clean it better or differently) and you will see you can get an old record (assuming it's in good shape) to sound super quiet AND have the depth to it no modern pressing will have. You have to compare two records from the different time periods to truly understand. If I hear one more person talk about how quite and clear a new pressing is, I'll throw up. You can clean any old undamaged record and get them pretty quiet if you know what you're doing. I don't want a CD pressed to vinyl. I want the real magic of Analog. Kevin Shields only found three plants in all of Europe that could remaster Loveless in an all fully analog process. You may get a little bit better resolution with vinyl from a digital source and hear new things with these vinyl remasters, but listen to an original pressing of something from the early 1980's or 50's, 60s, or 70's and you'll see why analog can be amazing without being as ear fatiguing as a CD. CD's and digital have their place, but not on vinyl records. Just try it. You can read more at the Skeptical Audiophile, who I'm a fan of. Everything you know is wrong about most remasters. All you need is ears.- Edited one year agoI have a copy with translucent vinyl (against light). Does anyone know if this is a regular issue? I couldn't find anything here on Discogs.

Whatever the most recent issue of this.. I'll have to listen again, only quickly spun it once, but was just a bit underwhelmed first listen. Not bad by any means, just lacking a bit of punch. Like, sounds more like the OG pressing than any remaster I've heard digitally. Oh well, bout time it got reissued at least, SST took long enough with quite a few incredibly popular albums.referencing You're Living All Over Me (LP, Album) SST 130
Incredible. I don’t know how this specific pressing compares to others as I just have this one, but the music is phenomenal. This album blew my mind and I haven’t recovered since. Mine is signed by J Lou and Murphreferencing You're Living All Over Me (LP, Album) SST 130
I Bought my copy in Sydney in 87 , the guy behind the counter said , "I bought this and I only buy classics" I guess it is a classic now, ??- I am the public and I have this swirly yellow vinyl which I bought at a large record store in a major city. I believe the "never offered publicly" comment is erroneous.
