This lp great for me as a first time owner, another great job by Wes Garland and Sundazed again! All these Elevators lps are a real trip like the best psych lps u feel ur on a journey of surprises. The OG must be something special, but im grateful for all the decent reasonably priced modern pressing there are about these days for 60s music, there's something so nice about being the only owner and cracking them open for the first time.

0/5 "presents mono edition". These dummies printed a stereo album and labeled it "mono"

No idea where these negative comments are coming from but don’t listen to them. Obviously an OG mono is what everyone wants but to act like this is some bad patchwork version is just flat out incorrect.

I really appreciated the sound of this edition.
It's full, deep and clear.
A wonderful record very well represented in this 1988 edition.
Recommended!!

Comparing with the org. copy I have; this sounds really foggy and far less dynamic. Lacks details, not bright as or close to the org.

Does this pressing come in a tip-on sleeve? If so, do all Charly’s 50th Anniversary Elevators reissues come in tip-ons, reproducing the original sleeves?
When they say “facsimile” I know they’re referring to the sound but they’re not clear on whether the “facsimile” aspect extends to the sleeves as well (i.e. thick cardboard, tip-on jackets).

It's a great album, but this issue sounds just terrible..

Not sure why there's so much debate on the sound quality for this release. I think it sounds loud and fantastic!

This is a 50 year old small label (and probably small budget) recording, it was never a sonic masterpiece to begin with. So what if it uses a digital transfer? As the liner notes state, the original masters are presumed to be lost, so the closest to an "original" sound would be an original 1966 pressing (good luck finding that without spending copious amounts of money). This reissue was sourced from a needle drop of an original promo pressing. It's not the most ideal source, but with the lack of source material it's the best that can be done.

Of course, I don't have an original mono copy to compare this release to, but then again, I'm a plebian who cannot afford to spend thousands of dollars on NM original pressings.
