The Beatles – Love Songs

n Belgium, there was a very limited edition in 1977: the double album was sealed with an original copy of the "The Beatles Get Back" book from 1970, the one that was part of the limited "Let it be" box set. I was lucky enough to buy it and have never seen one again. I wonder what is its value now. I also remember that the book was sold in 1971/72 by the Belgian pop magazine "Juke-Box" for 20 Belgian francs and I always thought they came from the same source. Anybody to confirm or give details about it?

If I had to choose only one album for the rest of my life it would be this one. This is something the best we human have ever made. Thanks the Beatles. And yes, this analog mastered compilation sounds great.

LOVE SONGS was my introduction to the Beatles...my mother used to play the hell out of the old Capitol cassette. Forty years later I still remember some of the song sequencing. It's a nice enough themed collection, very heavy on the ballads and softer side of the band, which makes it a logical companion to the ROCK & ROLL MUSIC double LP released a year prior. But ROCK & ROLL MUSIC also served a less obvious purpose - it spotlighted a dozen cover songs from their earliest years, whereas all but "Words of Love" on LOVE SONGS are original band compositions. As noted elsewhere, a couple of the songs are in those god-awful reprocessed stereo versions. My copy is clean, and it's a pleasant, nostalgic listening experience.

This is a killer sounding Scandinavian pressing. The sound is fresh, warm, clean and crisp.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on a mint copy. Blown away by the beautiful packaging and the pressing.

why is there no listing of the Canadian gold vinyl version?
