The New Pornographers – Electric Version

I never had the original pressing, but this 20th Anniversary one sounds nice and quiet. Only issue I noticed is that the record (like Mass Romantic) is radiating static electricity and ending tracks have some inner groove distortion, which is par for the course with vinyl I guess but is a shame seeing how All for Swinging You Around and Miss Teen Wordpower are two of the best songs on the record. As for the mastering, its the slightest bit loud, but nowhere near as compressed as the CD. As the same applied to Mass Romantic on vinyl, I assume this is simply how the record was mixed, loud, punchy, without much depth or stereo soundstage. The mix is almost mono, which may have been the bands intent.

Awesome pressing for a great price, love the monochrome cover and vinyl. Every song on this one has amazing energy, hasn't aged a day in 20 years.

This pressing is excellent. Very dynamic and loud. I’ve heard this album a hundred times and it’s very true to the sound.

This albums sounds pretty darn good on this pressing. There is definitely some surface noise, but not enough to ruin the experience. I honestly would give this a 5 star, but my pressing was slightly warped and somebody the inner sleeve was folded in a corner, which wasn't great. ASIDE FROM THOSE GRIPES, this record sounds awesome.
