This is one of the most pointless reissues ever heard. Complete waste material. Look for the original instead.- John’s vocals are a little bit in the background but that’s just the way this album was mixed. This is a great sounding pressing for being 55 years old!

I purchased my copy of this edition from acousticsounds dot com. This is a Quality Record Pressings product so the vinyl is black hole silent. I also have the Hoffman/Gray remaster of Bayou Country, and I listened to both recently back to back. Buy this pressing with confidence, it sounds fantastic.
I don't know why QRP does paper sleeves other than to keep their prices as low as possible.

My version of this edition has a lot of low end and little treble.- This record is short and sweet and packs a huge punch! Amazing instrument separation and clarity in the mix. It sounds like this came from a first generation master tape. The vocal harmonies on “night time is the right time” are a highlight of this classic album. Loaded with big hits and the lesser known songs are very good as well. “Wrote a song for everyone” is very poignant and I feel it’s just as powerful as any of the 20 songs on their greatest hits double LP.
- Edited 8 months agoDoes anyone know what version this is? https://store.acousticsounds.com/d/99186/Creedence_Clearwater_Revival-Green_River-140__150_Gram_Vinyl_Record Trying to figure out if it is a kevin gray remaster ...? (ignore the 'referencing' note above this comment... )

The first greek edition of Green River had also Susie-Q and Proud Mary. Since it was the first LP of CCR released in Greece, they included the two hits from previous discs.- Seven albums recorded and released between 1968 and 1972.
How's that for a prolific career?
During these four years (the time that some current bands need to release two average albums), the Fogerty brothers (John and Tom), Doug Clifford and Stu Cook, the Creedence Clearwater Revival, released a songbook that would turn them into legend, and one of those bands whose songs every one has listened to in movies, TV shows and radio for decades, even if they don't know who did actually write them.
I'm not intending to write an essay on "Green River"; plenty of these have been written during the last fifty-something years since its release.
Alas, I couldn't help remarking the songwriting mastery oozing out of this short (less than half an hour, straight to the point!) masterpiece of traditional and classic American rock, created by my favourite classic North American rock band (with permission from Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, of course!).
I mean, just consider the string "Tombstone Shadow", "Wrote A Song For Everyone", "Bad Moon Rising" and "Lodi" and tell me if that's not just impressively absurd.
And that's just the core of an album that is flanked by things like the title song, "Commotion", "Sinister Purpose" and "The Night Time Is The Right Time".
Pure genius for the ages in an unmissable album that should be included in any serious record collection.
