Extra points for writing her own material and playing guitar...and for not trying to mimic the styles of Janis Joplin or Carole King...in some ways bridging the past to the Wilson sisters and their band Heart...opening with the title track, an acoustic-guitar instrumental...singing on the other cuts...the set full of sadness and hope...strength and vulnerability...even with all the male musicians, a woman's album to the core (I love that the sexy photo on the back of sleeve is done by a woman)...the album a mixed bag no doubt, the set starting off strong enough but the hippie-anthem "Rainbow Farm" and the rest of side one enough to make you run from the commune...picking up the slack on side two with songs like "High," which sounds like it might be a woman lusting for a woman, but that dragon on the stage might be Mick Jagger "your friend Charlie he's so lucky, he gets to see you every day," ending the set strong enough with the slinky sexy "Chocolate Candy" and the rocking bad-ass female anthem "Woman"...perhaps no great songs on this album, but there certainly are a few good ones.

A beautiful singer as well as a person, and it definitely comes through in her work. The cover in no way conveys the melodic rock music contained therein.
