Faithless – Reverence

The opening track reverence is in my top 10 songs ever now if you enjoy Hi-Fi and invested most of your Lifes savings into the pursuit for sumptuous sound this album will deliver. The press is as good as it needs to be and RIP Max your left a legacy for future generations ears. WOW!

Sounds absolutely amazing! My neighours and the cops can testify to this! Also what made buying this album all worth it was screaming "SALVA MEA!!!" while they dragged me into the police van.

This issue has the nicest vinyl sleeve with also foiled gold lettering of: Faithless. The sound is indeed amazing!

My copy has a pressing error track A2. Plays with a crackle every turn from beginning to end.

It's one of the greatest wonders in music history, one of the most unique works.

There are all kinds of electronic bands with all kinds of house/trance/ambient/techno/trip-hop/downtempo/disco/breakbeat stb. albums...
...and there is the Reverence, this is the absolutely unique and unrepeatable miracle.

Because musically it is so eclectic, that in the meantime it is not. Because the whole thing is interwoven with something I just call it: "the Reverence sound".

So, because this album is a separate little music world.

And so it can happen on this album that after a great almost "one string guitar" song (Angeline) comes a trance anthem (Insomnia) - and yet it works! Moreover, here they fit perfectly side by side!

And because, anyway, there are songs on it like one of the greatest musical compositions of all time, the album version of Salva Mea, or the full "mood bomb", separately as well musical marvel, the Drifting Away.

So, for me: the most wonderful, most special, greatest music album, ever. Absolute and eternal favorite.

Reverence, quite simply, is an awesome album. Blending a traditional club music feel with distinctive, sleazy vocals the album provides a varied and unique sound. Standout tracks: well, all of them really. You could mention "If Lovin' you is wrong" (the music from the Boddingtons advert) for it's fantastic, dirty feel, or you could mention "Don't leave" for it's sweeping, uncomplicated elegance, but you HAVE to mention "Insomniac" with it's quintissential chord sequence which is to Dance music what the overture of "Beethoven's Fifth" is to Classical. There are too many fine qualities of this album to mention, Faithless undoubtedly belong within the ranks of Prodigy and Massive attack, simply put, I couldn't recommend this album more highly,
