I think the only reason people don't like this album relative to the rest of the discography is because it's a J album.
There are some great songs here and I think it absolutely stands up to Where You Been in song quality.
This album sounds great, pressing is good, though I'm always disappointed in how cheaply the jackets were made for 90s alt albums.

Record sounds great. Vinyl is THICK and sounds warmer than the original CD.

Just bought all 4 reissues via Amazon US (Been watching for a while and prices are starting to increase). My copy of WaS has what seems like a pressing plant scuff in the first 45 seconds of S1T1. Anyone else have/notice this? (replacement from Amazon arriving in 2 days, hope this is a one off issue). No hype stickers on any of them as commented below.

          ---- UPDATE ----
2nd copy arrived, same issue, same visible scuff on disc. BUMMED.

The stamp on my CD is white. I'm not really sure which version it is, but I know it isn't european, japanese, south african or canadian, since it has still got the dog on it. If someone knows about it please let me know. I got it at Generation Records, NYC.

This Dino Jr album sounds beautiful on vinyl. Big, open soundstage with exceptional separation and clarity. Jay’s vocals are intimate and passionate. You can hear that uneasy tension in his voice. Drums are robust and punchy and the guitar is direct and hits you right in the gut. The Vinyl opens the music up and airs things out. Nothing sound compressed or distorted even when that guitar starts wailing. Really this is the ideal way to hear this blazing guitar record. The balance is perfect with emphasis and n the midrange and cutting guitar tone. The low end is defined and sits in the mix just right without being overbearing. The focus really is on the stinging guitar work of J and the mastering compliments his playing well. Plays at normal levels. Really pleased with how this album sounds on the vinyl format. I was lucky enough to find a sealed copy and the vinyl is flawless and plays dead quiet. If you are a Dinosaur Jr. fan, I’d highly suggest seeking out the original vinyl records.

BTW...if you order this from Amazon you get auto rip which has much more bonus material and 29 total songs. There’s no download card, so this is the way to go.

Mine arrived without the yellow hype sticker. Is this common?

These four Dinosaur Jr albums are the best reissue released this year. The packaging is nice, the pressing is very good. A lot of good bonus too. For this album, the live versions are amazing.

While the sound is great on this version, the pressing could be better. It is far away from being dead silent, you can hear rumble noises between the tracks (also on all other reissues) which may be caused by the coloured vinyl.

I don't really like writing reviews, but I'm guessing for the price people will want to know if these '90s reissues are worth it. In my opinion, Yes Yes Yes. I should preface my review and state that Dinosaur Jr's 90s albums were the first ones I owned, and maybe for that reason were always my favorites.
Pressing is good. I have no warping or skipping issues on my copies. Despite a decent pre-amp, amp set up, I don't always think Dinosaur Jr sounds best on vinyl. These, however, sound really good. I cleaned all my albums, but there is definitely crackle when the needle drops and between songs, as well as on the quieter acoustic tunes. But given the outstanding quality of the packaging and song selection for the bonus tracks, I don't mind so much in this case. I ordered all 4 LPs and CDs and couldn't be happier. The sleeves are sturdy and covered with photos, liner notes/essays and drawings. (You will have to put the discs in your own sleeve protectors). Some of the bonus tracks included here were exclusive to certain countries such as Japan and Australia back in the 90s, but available now for the first time on these reissues. Over the years I have collected some of those exclusive CD releases, but now I have many of those songs all in one here, and on vinyl, wow. For those of you who know what I'm referring to, the amazing 10 min live version of "What else is new," from the Japanese "Feel the Pain" live EP is included. Also, the CDs contain even more songs in addition to the bonus tracks included on the vinyl LPs. For example, the "Without a Sound" CD contains instrumental versions from the master tapes. Crazy.
Each CD comes with its own booklet. So much material, packaged so nicely. It's all well worth the money in my opinion. Doesn't feel like a half-assed rip off reissue at all.
Outstanding job by Cherry Red Records in my opinion for these wonderful albums that most Dinosaur Jr fans think are under appreciated. Oh yes, and I purchased direct from Cherry Red Records and received a square pin of each album! They told me in an email that they ran out, but are restocking more.
Hope this review helps anyone on the fence.
