Edited 3 years agoThe devil is in the details as they say, and that's probably why Grind is one of the best Macronympha releases.
The level of composition within these tracks is excellent. They took the key ingredients from past releases: junk metal, harsh electronics (feedback, distortion, etc), tape manipulation and cranked out a brutal album of gorgeously layered noise. The sounds are utterly filthy and disgusting, but complex at the same time. Each track has a sense of balance and contrast created through the careful editing that really shines. There are also moments of reprieve that help break the tension at just the right moments before it kicks back into a bludgeoning.
One of my favorite noise releases. Highest recommendations!
