grab the Russian bootleg for sure and stay away from any important pressings of this album!
Edited 4 months agoAdding my voice to the chorus. Side C sounds terrible: distracting sibilance and audio distortion. Do not buy this version.
This is not Coil's strongest release, but it's very good in its own way. A bit more approachable from a song structure and production perspective than their most abstract material. Still emotionally harrowing. Jon is "looking into the abyss" here. Strikes me that they are trying to sound a bit like NIN at times, which is clearly not a coincidence.

I think there is a version that is not listed here. There was a vinyl version that was released in 2005/6 that was released in a thick heavy duty cardboard box.
