These New Puritans – Field Of Reeds

I have just bought this - 3 sided release.

Its ok. Very crackly though even after a couple of cleans. Might return it.
Not sure why but track 1 has been renamed The Way I Do 🤷‍♂️

THIS is how records should sound. There's nothing out of place or overdone on this work of art. The content, production, mastering, and sleeve design are all nigh-on flawless. Dynamic, clean, stunning, A crown jewel in my collection, without question. Ten years after its release, this work hasn't lost any luster.

I'm lucky enough to have a signed copy from one of their London gigs. It's a really special record.

Unfortunately, as much the artwork is nice and the music is insanely beautiful & creative, my copy has annoying sound issues.
Mostly saturation/crackles on 'bass-heavy' and/or busy parts of some tracks which is clearly audible throughout the whole record.
That's a shame because the rest of the record sounds very good and quiet.

Edit: got a second copy, and had the same problem. Pretty bad QC on this record then...

pure magnetism. and its so different between first records. very strong evolution. been pleased to hear the first album on a concert, and now, last years, listening this new sound.

Yeah, at £18 I was a bit hesitant to buy this record at first. However after having the music really grow on me throughout the year I finally decided to pick it up and i don't regret it one bit. Comes in a nice embossed gatefold jacket, and includes two inserts and a download code. The records themselves come in polylined sleeves (don't see that very often), and sound absolutely beautiful. The etching is always nice too, much rather have this than having the music unnecessarily spread out over 4 sides like I often see nowadays.

Marvelous! If only there were more vinyl releases like this one. Everything in it's right place ...
