Black Moon – Enta Da Stage

This sounds like mud. Yes, the music is dark, and gritty to begin with, but listening to this album on vinyl is almost depressing.

This record sounds the way it does because this was Evil Dee's first ever job as an engineer without much prior knowledge. They had to do it themselves because their original engineer just quit the job. He said they specifically tailored this album to be played on cassette, so that seems to be the definitive version.

The first album of Black Moon and one of the hardest albums you will hear in your lifetime.

Lots of surface noise but it's a vibe I guess

Interesting that the OG test press hasn't been submitted. I own a copy but to be honest my experience of submissions is it's just a headache. Self righteous overly anal people pulling the submission apart for not dotting i's or crossing t's. I'll hopefully get around to it soon, with a few sharp intakes of breath. Dope album anyway!

Not the best sounding reissue imo. Muted, bass heavy and lots of crackles after a good cleaning. id be interested to hear comparisons with the original and the 2017 2xlp re-issues.

Considering every review of every pressing of this classic comments on the terrible sound quality... consider me pleasantly surprised. Could the low end be more full? Yes... but it's not horrible... EQ a little and you're good. No distortion, surface noise or sibilance here. For the price I am very happy.

got the 9101 - 02002 - 1 too and can just confirm that the quality is below(!) bad. Anybody knows if there is a decent version out there? This one is only for putting it on your bedroom wall...

Really low volume and some sibilance. Sounds very compressed, like the source is from an average sounding mp3. On the plus side there isn’t much surface noise.

How many MCs sounds amazing. Too bad the rest of the tracks on the disc didn’t get similar treatment.

This release is missing Slave which is a bit of a bummer.

I was excited to get this one since its the only LP version with all the tracks. But the sound is absolutely terrible on my copy. Bass is non existent. Sounds like it was recorded in an empty bathroom. Not to mention terrible quality control, inner sleeve came torn out the seal, LPs were very dusty and look like they need cleaning. Is there no proper sounding edition of this classic?
