Sepultura – Roots

How does this one sound ? Please could anyone give us some light about this release ? It is still available in the records store and I'm hesitating... thanks to whoever.

Awesome looking box set, the Roots album is a little bass heavy, real thick heavy sound, doesn't sound very dynamic. The live at Ozzfest set suffers from digitization you can really hear it in the cymbals. Its a crushing live performance that brings me back to the days of collecting and trading live bootlegs.

Great album, very nice reedition. A good box, beautiful vinyl colours. Great mastering, good pressing.

That show was mind blowing! And since I mention the word blowing..........anyone who was there will remember the massive dust storm that came down off the mountain during Sepultura! It was so apocalyptic and bad ass. Good times.

Anybody get the limited and numbered out of 200 color version that are randomly put out? I have not even got tracking yet from ROG

Update: After several weeks, Run Out Groove has contacted me back and has since straightened out the overcharges.

This released was pressed and manufactured by Record Industry in the Netherlands while the audio was mastered specifically for vinyl by Pete Weiss at Jade Cow Music Services and lacquer cut by JJ Golden at Golden Mastering. Excellent art reproduction in a thick chipboard box and tip-on jackets, Stoughton Printing style, are also very nice.

Audio, at least for the actual Roots album, is also excellent with higher dynamic range than the CD. The music is properly spaced out so there's no potential issue for inner groove distortion nor low-volume sound that plagued previous releases on vinyl LP.

Anyone who wants the best sounding version of Roots should nab this. Be warned that customer service from Run Out Groove Records is quite poor at the time of this post, as I was charged double the amount of duties and taxes.

I didn’t enjoy this pressing - it sounds somewhat passable through my floorstanding klipsch towers but through my studio monitors it just sounds flat and lifeless with bloated bass and harsh highs.
