Gorillaz – Gorillaz

Just to add my 2cents here, this is indeed a wonderful pressing. Unsure if i have the 2021 or 2015 repress - but i couldn't honestly careless! After the huge disappointment of the Charlatans recent repress this black vinyl ring has restored some faith.

I don’t know if mine was a dud or not, but it was completely distorted, sounded like garbage. I had to put on another vinyl just to make sure that my speakers weren’t blown. That’s how distorted it sounded. I hope it was just mine and everyone else else’s sounds good, but I’m returning it And I’ll just get a different release.

Just revisited my copy, and I forgot how good this sounds. I wish all records had this level of quality.

Probably one of the best sounding records I own - great mix and zero noise.

This is a modern affordable audiophile record. The soundstage, dynamic range, clarity, depth and separation in a lofi pop record like this is absolutely mind blowing.

I am working on my electronic pop EP now and I am using this pressing as my reference for mixing and mastering.

Discs are flat and absolutely clean/noise free. The gatefold cover and the artwork is 100/100.

Genius debut album.

I think I have an unlisted repress because I do not have a locked groove. My copy is from Barnes & Noble and all the IDs and notes match this release. It also sounds just as great as everyone here has described.

So are we just gonna ignore that most of the songs in this album were presets from some kids toys instrument???

As other reviews mention, the format of the box is very impractical and difficult to work with. Though I don't play these records often, just in my time of sharing this release with friends the spine of the "book" tore away. As for the records themselves, it's great to finally have Laika Come Home on vinyl! This is the second time it has ever been pressed, and the first is extremely rare and holds a high price. Included in this set are live recordings which sound absolutely amazing on vinyl and are the highlight of the music included. The demo tracks are a great bonus as well! I've been into Gorillaz history for years and finally hearing the full version of Hand Clapper was super satisfying. Hoping that a phase 2 version of this is made, including Demon Days, D-Sides, etc., hopefully with better packaging.

Lastly- Someone at Gorillaz HQ put a LOT of work into the documents included in the front. There's too many to even read!!! That's a positive thing though in my eyes:)

This album is pure genius. Every track is a proper picture that speaks for itself making this one of the most diverse yet cohesive albums I ever heard. Albums like this are the reason why I love this band so much.
Astonishing sound quality, insane production, great mastering and really well-made packaging. This is a record that every music lover should own.

With currently over 40 albums in my collection and a number of them I hold very highly and may sound better overall from a depth and production perspective, none are as quiet and clean as this vinyl. I don't know what magic they worked on this but there is basically zero noise even between tracks. Impressive.
