Gorillaz – Demon Days

I think the skipping that people are experiencing with this is just their stereo systems not being able to handle the bass and drums. It’s very punchy mastering and a turntable this is inexpensive or improperly set up in terms is the tone arm tracking force, alignment, etc. might skip on heavy bass parts especially with a heavy drum hit.
This is pressed very well, especially for a picture disc. Sounds great!

The crackling on side D is a bit annoying - the rest of the record sounds crystal clear though...

My copy I got from the 2018 Parlaphone version matches this one exactly. Little bummed since the other copy has rave reviews but I wonder how many people don't notice it's this copy.

Overall it's got phenomenal bass - the transitions between tracks ARE on this pressing and there is NO locked groove on side C. The overall quality leaves a little more to be desired with how good Plastic Beach sounds.Maybe one day I'll get around to buying a 2018 copy of Demon Days to A/B test just to see if I'm going crazy or not. Overall though if you find this for a good price I wouldn't spend more than $20 to find a 2018 press as this one's still overall solid.

Spinning on a uturn with ortofon 2m blue, schiit mani preamp, Yamaha RXV6A receiver and Klipsch RP600ms running in 2.0

That base is luscious and no noise whatsoever. Great pressing from beginning to end with all the transitions. The gatefold is beautiful and the inner sleeves have glossy color images of each band character. Truly a must.

DEFIES the "picture disc = poor sound quality" stereotypes. This pressing is a hack code for DD as it preserves the original track layering available on the OGs, keeping the nature flow of this groundbreaking lp. My copies are flat and rarely did I hear surface noise (interestingly enough it seems to follow deep bass driven passages (static?)...x3 ultrasonically fresh washed - pretty much dead quiet. I can hear so much more detail now, super dynamic, transparent soundstage & slam slam slam.

very confused with my copy of this. it has the runouts of this variant, but none of the transitions, and also half the tracks on the first two sides sound like low-quality MP3s with compression? its not the vinyl itself, that plays perfectly clean, its the actual master. no idea why this would be as ive never heard it like that on CD or streaming.

Does anyone have an idea of the value of this vinyl?

Great sounding with no skips, popping or locked groove issues. Only thing is I wish it kept the transitions.
