Not the greatest sound quality. Muddy and muffled. Still enjoyable, but there’s gotta be better pressings.

Great album, not-so-great pressing. I had this copy for years, but when I heard the remastered CD it was like "oh. THAT's what it should like." Still a classic release. Spinal Tap could never have gotten away with that album cover...

Not impressed with the sound of this record. My presswell repress of Stranded sounds fine but this LP sounds very muddy and harsh at times. Gonna have to purchase one of the new Abbey Road represses and compare them

I am a late convert to Roxy Music and this album, so I can't compare this pressing with others, but. . .I love everything about it. The sound is full, rich, and dynamic, and the packaging is top shelf. I have the half-speed remasters of their first five LPs, and the quality is consistent across the board. Someone put a lot of love into it, and deservedly so, as Roxy Music made some of the most inspired and compelling music of that era.

Get the 2023 half speed master it’s much clearer this sounds muffled

Pressing is flat and the sound is fantastic. Great instrument separation and strong dynamics. If the other reissues sound this good I will pick the ones I don’t have to fill my RM holes in my collection. Recommend purchase!

An exhilarating sonically diverse quirky art rock/elegant sophisti-pop-rock LP w/ superb musicality swooning lyricism melodic songs all fronted by Ferry's lounge lizard vocal style that never sounded this good ever again.
This is RM’s finest hour - a testament of the band's dynamism & a very fine album indeed let down only slightly by the cluttered mid-70s muddy production.
Buy it for the cover, keep it for the music.

Wow.... a proper quality reissue and remaster in what has been a poor couple of years for me buying new records. When Optimal are on it they knock out some incredible pressings. This is as good as any 1step or UHQR ive got. Its totally flat and devoid of any groove defect whatsoever and plays like it. The sound is much fresher than the seriously dull remasters done a few years back which while claiming to be a flat transfer ended up sounding flat and then some. This proves that remastering done right can seriously improve a recording. Cant wait to get the other 2022 Roxy half speeds now

This sounds fantastic, very dynamic and no surface noise. Record is flat as well. I will be picking up the others up to Sirens for sure
