Beautiful pressing. I previously had the first US press with an orange animal label. The US press is much worse, it's very muffled and awfully distorted. This press is much better, vocals and instruments are pretty clear, and I can hear nice separation through the record. I felt as if it was less thinny than the US press, but this thinness is a general problem of this recording. I haven`t tried the UK press, but if you want to have an affordable and good-sounding vinyl of this record, I would definitely recommend this pressing!

This version seems to be a bootleg/unofficial release. Sleeve and labels look kind of blurry/pixelated. Sound quality is not good. It sounds thin and kind of distorted, not shure if it is supposed to sound like that.

Just buy an original copy of this album guys! Its not that expensive and its sounds 1,000 times better than any of these messed up reissues or CDs. Surely for this one its worth it. By 1m miles their best, side one is only matched by Creedence at their peak, or Dr John Gris Gris, or Cramps Songs the Lord taught us. Every time I play it I get bitten by 30 mosquitos up from that swamp and have to drink half a bottle of Tequila...

My copy sounds good. Barely any surface noise. The mix is a bit thin but if you crank it up it sounds good. Better sounding than my CD. Supposedly the recording/mixing of this album didn’t go so smooth and you can tell, but it’s still a very dynamic sounding record. Bass is lacking but I kinda like how it sounds as I’m not a huge fan of a lot of bass anyway.

DO NOT buy this version. Quiet, compressed, and flat. The original CD transfer sounds better.

mine has no issues with the standard black 2xLP version.. except for a very, very small bend on the upper left (my left) corner. I recently bought my copy from Terry Graham, drummer extraordinaire.. he also wrote a cool message and signed the front cover. he's on F#kbook, and may still have a few copies for sale.. he hooked me up for $25 usd.. that included postage. he uses PayPal..

I know Fire of Love gets all the credit, but this very well could be my favourite Gun Club record. A mature songwriter exploring his roots and still managing to sound punk as fuck at times. Texas Serenade is a masterpiece.

As far as this pressing is concerned, it seems pretty standard for MOV. Very clean, not at all noisy or scratchy. However sound is very flat, lacking dynamics, when compared with a truly standout pressing. I don't have the original of this LP so don't necessarily have a good reference point, but play this back to back with a good early pressing of your fav. 70s or 80s rock record and see what I mean.

Beautiful pressing. Everything is balanced, clear, and damn near perfect. My tonearm doesn’t sway one bit and the vinyl has 0 defects. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore.
My set up is technics SL-D2 TT, AT VM740MLcart, Luxman R-1050 receiver, Jbl LX-55 speakers.

Can anyone tell me the sound quality of this pressing?
