- I bought this when it came out in Time Is Right Records on Park Row, Bristol, who had a small but really good Detroit techno section downstairs. I asked the man upstairs to play a bit. He obliged, and a girl looked at me. "Do you like this?" she asked. I did and still love it.
- All tracks of this lp are pure banger electro tunes ! Mention for Aqua from hole and bubble metropolis ! Hard to imagine that this record is from 1993 !!! Bust still so good !! All electro fans must have this record on a vinyl collection !!
- Colin Dale played at least 5 tracks from this release on the Outer Limits section of his Abstract Dance show for several consecutive weeks. He seemed to show genuine enthusiasm particularly for Aqua Worm Hole. Of course, he had great taste. Blimey, the days before 'tech house' and 'minimal' became the trendy buzzwords and 'club' techno wasn't a thing as such. We were still raving to it then rather than 'clubbing' to it. No Boiler Room type DJ worshipping facing in one direction. Just the love for the music and dancing like weird freaks. What a highly experimental and relaxed era. This release is a true snapshot of that time.

What a great record by Drexciya. As always, it is tough to capture the magic of Drexciya music is words. This record kick of with Aqua Worm Hole, a beautiful electro track. It contains is has a very powerfull ongoing groove, which is just magical. Positron Island is the next track, it's more hard kicking and alot darker. Full of nasty aquatic electro sounds. Beyond The Abyss is up next, it's a short track. Not very special but it contains a great straight forward beat.
The B side starts of with the titel track of this release; Bubble Metropolis. One of the most well known tracks Drexciya released. Many Dj's around the world spinned this track in one of their sets. At some times this track freaks me out, it sounds paranoid in a very good way. Danger Bay is the second track on the B side. Another great nasty dark track, some sort of laughing vocal is heard in the background. Welcome To Drexciya closes this one down, it seems a little bit strange to put a track with such a title on last. But okay, this one is beatless. Just freakin' electronics.
This is indeed an essential release, I could recommend this record to every electrohead out there. - Edited 19 years agoThe standout track on Drexciya 2 has to be Bubble Metropolis. IMHO has to have one of the fattest basslines ever. The music allows you to picture yourself piloting you Lardozian crusier through the Drexciya underwater world speeding along the aquabahn. Another masterpiece from Drexciya. If you have never heard or come across Drexciya before I believe there is no better place to start than this EP. Absolutely Essential.
