King Crimson – THRAK

Excellent pressing with no noise, the perfect way to appreciate the only LP studio album by the double-trio version of KC. Side 4 of this vinyl version is the VROOM EP. There is a rumbling bass sound like distant thunder in 'One Time' that i have never appreciated until I heard this pressing.

Always has been an outstanding recording (if you love drums then brace yerself!). This pressing lets it shine. Side 2 has a few light tics but overall this thing is flat and silent x2.

This is a stunning vinyl record. Transparent-sounding moments like "One Time" or "B'Boom" are some of my best audiophile experiences ever, but the whole record is perfection in every respect.

Really powerful record and quite underrated in king crimson's discography. Like most of the 200g pressings, the sound quality and mastering are top notch. Highly recommend this!

Fantastic remastering and at the end pressed on LP. One of the best albums and one of the best modern vinyl pressing

I wrote about King Crimson's 1995 album "THRAK" a little awhile ago, concerning the CD release of this album. Listening to it again (and again) "THRAK" is King Crimson's best album. The sound of two guitars (or more overdubs), two basses, and two drummers, in other words, a double-trio setting makes the sound hard with moments of softness that is truly beautiful. "Coda: Marine 475 is like the greatest Yardbirds rave-up within under three-minutes. I have never been a mega-fan of Adrian Belew's writing, but here he shines as both writer and guitarist. "THRAK" is an accurate title to this work, because that is the overall sound of the album.

The music is orchestral and very contained in the hands of Robert Fripp and company. Fripp is the Duke Ellington of this band, and he knows how to obtain a singular focus, while still showing each musician's character and trademark. Bill Bruford and Pat Mastelotto work brilliantly together to give loose almost chaotic rhythms to match the sweetness and mostly the harshness of the guitars. My favorite guitar albums are the first Television and Feelies albums, and "THRAK" is another excellent guitar record.

Absolutely superb package. Stunning detail and sound quality. Inky black silence on quiet passages and between tracks. Poly lined card sleeves. Gatefold sleeve is spot on too. NOT ONE TICK OR POP! 10/10 😀😀
