"Vapor City" is Machinedrum's follow up to the highly touted Planet Mu release, "Room(s)." To that end, the only sin of "Vapor City" is that it followed "Room(s)," and wasn't an aesthetic copy, when released on Ninja Tune. Machinedrum didn't completely abandon his work started on "Room(s)." He, however, expanded out and took risks that few, if any, would have taken. This is among the strongest work an American has invested in grime, d'n'b, jungle, R&B/soul and ambient cross-ways.That it received an underwhelming response from critics in its own right shouldn't surprise anyone: Taking risks has its rewards and, well, risks. In so many words: Sleeper, killer album.

Even if this wasn't my favourite album musically (and I'm not saying it isn't), it's probably my favourite music item. Very beautiful artwork and good quality overall. The vinyl sounds great, too. A well realized study on this style of music, good flow, great standout tracks like Center Your Love and Eyesdontlie. It really is a complete product.

This album is great! Really surprised it hasn't gotten more attention. Very cool mixture of dnb, juke/footwork, and ambient. Also this press is beautiful. Discs are only standard weight if you want to get really picky, but it sounds great.

The best post dubstep records of 2013 and the best Machinedrum record till now. Great packaging if you get it on vinyl.
