Was sampling this album, mainly track A1. Was stunned at the sound quality and listened to the whole thing!!!

Nice-sounding CD. It has pre-emphasis, so if your player (or ripping software) doesn't correctly undo that, the music will seem insanely treble-heavy.

Great sounding album. Passionate and political, without being preachy. A Canadian classic 🇨🇦

Solid record. Songs are well crafted and the recording is strong. I wish my pressing was a little better in the mid groove but oh well. Recommended.

Fine transfer of a rather fine 80's success story, has it's few moments of cringe but hey it's aged reasonably well.

Sounds really good. I would say it is a realy great pressing. All over clear and instruments are well separated. The purchase is worthwhile!

Re: Bruce Cockburn - Stealing Fire - very nice U.S. pressing (Gold Mountain GM-80012, EMW press) that, bizarrely, I picked up in a "deletions" rack in Germany in 1988. The mastering on this release is superb, with special merit for the final track on Side 1, "Peggy's Kitchen Wall"; it has the highest amplitude peaks of the whole album, no audible distortion and, for me, sets the bar with what is possible with the inner track on a 12" vinyl album. Elsewhere the sound is crisp, full and clean, with no surface faults or clicks/ticks. Beautiful album in every sense - musical and as a vinyl artefact.

Unbelievable sounding LP of an obviously great recording. The clarity, soundstage & bass guitar are incredible. Then there is Bruce's lyrics & guitar playing ability which elevate this album even further. A Canadian classic if ever there was one...
