This Is the Sea is the third studio album by Scottish folk rock band The Waterboys, recorded February – August 1985 and released on 16 September 1985 by Ensign Records.

- The remaster sounds loud but high frequencies are completely awful. RM in Abbey Road? really? I would have done a better job at home. I know it's hard to remaster such a master work as this LP. recorded almost live with 80's sparkling reverbs and lots of tambourines and cymbals and not much de esser but I though Abbey road engineers were wiser as they show here

Got this, but it is a promotional copy, with promo mark on the back sleeve- Based on the run-out stampings this appears to be the same master as the 2015 release, which was supposedly based on the 2004 digital remaster? Sounds flat and harsh compared to my OG UK vinyl, I'd suggest picking up one of those instead!
Nice quiet pressing though. GZ seem to be much improved recently.

180g clear vinyl - feels solid.
Sound is really good - quiet vinyl, well balanced master, bright. No EQ needed on my system.
A good example of how a quality reissue should be done - no frills, decent packaging, good sound at a realistic price point.
Is this just an in-house GZ DMM cut? If not, who cut the lacquers?- Seems like a nice repress. Has the spot varnish logo on the front cover and comes with a poly inner sleeve. Looking forward to listening tonight.
