Recently did reviews for the other 3 albums so now I will do the first album.
A lot of people think youthquake is the first album, but this is how they got the producers for youthquake. They released a few singles, misty circles, what I want, I'd do anything & a few singles & EPs that had songs that didn't get put onto the album. The released that's the way I like it as a single & that got them noticed in the US. Pete said the song was more of a joke & he did it for fun. He said the label wanted it on the album I think & it wasn't suppose to be that big. Let's talk about what versions are on this
Misty circles - it's pretty much the 7" version, but the end has a outro that goes into the next song.
What I Want - it pretty much uses an edit of the extended dance mix & it fades at the end. Its also Edit slightly kinda like brand new lovers album version.
I'd Do Anything - pretty much the single Version just different intro & outro
That's the way - now I'm pretty sure the single Version was rerecorded or the album version was. The single Version was very close to the album version, but the single version is edited & the instrumental is only slightly different. Also any female vocals on the single version are taken out besides a few I think. I know they are a lot more present on the album version, which is why I think the album version is rerecorded.
This album In Japan had a bonus track which was keep that body strong, which is a dub if that's the way.
A deluxe Version was released In 2007 & it had all the extended 12" versions & 2 be-sides along with keep that body strong. That's the way (extended version) continues into keep that body strong, so sadly the version on that release isn't right, because it never continued into it. They made the extended mix basically longer adding the dub at the end. I guess the record label didn't get into that or they didn't care. Also each track actually slightly continues into each other, even the 12" mixes which they shouldn't. Luckily this years boxset fixed that issue & had everything.

Its a nice release. I wish they would have made it a double disc for my room for the 2nd disc. there's a 3rd b-side they didn't add. It was Give it to me. The other B-sides are nice. The Stranger was remixed for the album back in the 80's & for there new record company. The original was released on a 7'' Vinyl. So you actually get its b-side version & not its single version. They also could have added the Dub Versions of Misty Circles & I'd Do Anything Plus the New Dance Mix of What I Want & maybe the instrumental Version of Misty Circles.
