Edited one year agoFeel this one is a bit slept-on. Quality material from start to finish though, and the beats were definitely influenced by what was happening on the east coast at the time (96'). Really nice pressing as well. If you're a fan of mid-90's Hip Hop, this belongs in your collection.
my only complain about this pressing is related to the mastering of "Paparazzi"....it sounds ages muddier and boxed (especially the voice mix) than other tracks. Btw it is a must have album of the golden age: when every rapper had his own style, from voice to productions. Surely a slept on gem from the sunny West Coast. E-Swift and The Liks helped to create a dope hip hop work, way far from that negative inflence and over-hyped Gangsta shit, but way far from the obsessivity sound from the East Coast. A middle land of good samples, rhymes and street attitude....Thank X!
The Foundation is hands down the realest cut off this album. Dope beat Mr. Muggs
