- Edited 6 years agoBeautiful production, relaxing, hypnotizing and uplifting, all the musics evoke night atmospheres, ideal to explore and wander through historical/medieval streets at night with a sky filled with stars, streetlamps or torches with yellow/warm lights illuminating all the surrounding buildings. "Atlos" and "Fovea centralis" are my favorite tracks here. "Pendoulous" is also very interesting it reminds me Vladislav Delay.
- Edited 9 years agoIt sounds plenty bassy enough played at my home system, I guess it depends on what speakers you use, I played it through Pioneer SP-BS22-LR speakers.
- Edited 9 years agoStill trying to figure why Matt Colton had to remaster this after the great job made by Dubplates & Mastering on Porter Ricks' Biokinetics making it one of the best sounding record that I own. In this case also they are also closer to Chain Reaction's sounds given their ties to Ernestus & Oswald.
However we all know that those records have a big point on basslines, all dub techno records are focused on basslines but Basic Channel's and Chain Reactions sounds are known first and foremost for those.
On this remaster basslines are completely overshadowed by other sounds, they play way too much on the background and trying to enhance bass on the amplifier does not work well. Really disappointed with Colton's choice over Dubplates & Materings' and disappointed with this master in general.
(Music is a stunner, though) - Edited 14 years ago

If there is a future I'd like to be in, then it is Fluxion who managed to capture the vision of it in this album (and in his others as well, I won't hesitate to call them all divine). This is the music you see, not hear. Patterns and lights and spaces and things without verbal descriptions.. Serene and peaceful, yet highly organised and powerful.. When everything came to ultimate balance and love.. Warm coolness and absent presence..
This is a perfect state to be. Explore Fluxion's worlds.. referencing Vibrant Forms (CD, Compilation) CRD-07
An undeniable specimen of the thing i refer to as "dub in ambience". I really can't stress enough how this album moves me in many ways with many different emotions. The precise way fluxion arranges and displays his work is almost a morphing masterpiece of music, moving art if you will. A beautifully constructed gem worth owning for anyone and a must have amongst collectors, quite possibly one of the greatest albums to bless my ears. If your forte resides close to ambient, dub, idm, electro, trance, house, or just flat out positive uplifting beats, this is essential listening.- Edited 19 years ago

"Vibrant Forms" stands much away from other Chain Reaction gems; having said that, I'm aware that many of minimal-dub-techno fans would not share my points of view. But, as a dedicated listener, I must emphasize strong, almost mathematic precision in creation of dubby environment around and inside the 'submarined' minimal beats presented by Fluxion. Great atmosphere emerges from unexplored subspaces, evolving through carefuly arranged rhythms and oscillation patterns. I like to think of it as a fusion of intelligent and emotional sides of human soul, being and showing itself as one perfectly composed structure. Just as it should be.
It may sound strange, but this release very often reminds me of GAS' "Pop" - almost the same kind of strong beatless expression being submerged in dense, heavy and sometimes unexplainable blurriness.
