The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Miami Pop Festival

Acoustic Sounds website say "All analog mastering", what does this mean? No digital step in the process?

Bad pressing. Distorded vocals. Warped. Off centre. Most Legacy Jimi pressings suck a-hole.

Very good record. Some tracks suffer from not perfect recording (but this is a live show), with soundstage a little compressed, but I like a lot the instruments vibe and the live feel of so well known songs. You hear Hendrix playing for fun.

I just got a copy of this. My copy has no sticker on the front of the protective "bag" like most releases from Legacy/Experience Hendrix, and mine is definitely not 200 gram. Runouts are the same. I think it was repressed on 180 gram vinyl. I might need to create another new sub for the lighter weight version.

Hey guys, this version is also a limitted edition right?

I appear to have a numbered edition of this release. There is no "release" in the database for a numbered edition of the Experience Hendrix/Legacy version of this album (only for the Music On Vinyl version). Should I create a new release that is a numbered edition?

This album of 'The Jimi Hendrix Experience' contains a full soundtrack of two live performance previously never officially released. The record was made the May 18, 1968 at the Miami Pop Festival.

Titles are mixed to make a consistent setlist, some of them had never been recorded live earlier. The show is generally very good and the original recording has been well restored. Unfortunately, the quality of mastering is bad enough, sound is too much saturated and we can hear only the Jimi’s guitar. The remarkable drumming of Mitch Mitchell is nearly inaudible, thus rendering is very bad.

The album contains also a 24 page’s booklet with some pictures of the live performance and of the group’s arrival in Miami airport.

This album is for collectors only, if you want to hear Jimi Hendrix at the best in live, prefer 'Live At Monterey' (2007) or 'Live At Berkeley' (2003).

Recorded by Hendrix producer Eddie Kramer so the sound quality is fairly good. It's the first live recordings of "Tax Free" and "Hear My Train A Coming", and there's another fine live performance of "Red House", but nothing unusually electrifying here. Hendrix's best live work is definitely with his final Experience Band featuring Billy Cox, instead of Noel.

Sound quality is superb.
