Reviews
- An absolutely incredible recording. There is a really big soundstage to explore, with great depth, width, and height. The atmosphere is lush and beautiful in ambience, but also clear and articulate. I hear DEEP into the recording on this remaster, it's very easy to listen into the recording and explore the music the the fullest. Really well done!!

As of now, 666 copies on sale on the main page 😁- This is an amazing sounding reissue. Crank it up and it’s just gets better!!Packaging spot on too. All round quality
- I was looking forward to this release after learning about the surround sound mix.
I ordered it and all and when it arrived, and I saw the sticker with 'Up-Mix' on it my heart sank. And rightly so! (Mind, this was not advertised as an up-mix was it?).
I don't own the Atmos setup so I can not say much but 5.1 DTS & LPCM is the worst I have ever heard.
I mean to not go to the master tapes and mix the album specifically for surround is beyond awful! Why even go to so much trouble? If the original CDs were remastered surely the masters are available?
If the tapes are not available talk to the industry leaders!
Steven Willson did a wonderful job separating a few tracks on one of Gentle Giant's albums. I am now considering re-selling it but seeing that they sell for less than I paid already tells me there is no value in this release.
I already have the Double CD and Double Vinyl so I suppose I just cut the losses and sell it here.
Absolutely appalling action from whoever did this re-release box set!
You should all learn from DGM and Robert Fripp how to release Box-Sets! Sic! - Can anyone with a OG/vintage (ideally French, UK, German or Jap.) tells us the results of a proper shout-out?

Cheers! - Edited one month agoHaving listened to Aphrodite Child's 666 many times, I always wished for a new version where the sound was better. Well, my wishes have been answered with this release. All of the versions in this set are an improvement over the original, but my favorite is the Atmos Upmix on the Blu-ray. It was as though I was hearing the album for the first time. You can clearly hear all of the different instruments on this one. Even Irene Papas' moans sound great! The Blu-ray also has a French interview in which Vangelis improvises. The booklet contains many articles and photos of the band from back in the day which is nice. I paid $100 for this import and it is worth it if you like the album and are a fan of Vangelis' music. By the way, the Blu-ray is NOT region locked as it played on my U.S. player.
- Sounds fantastic on every level: the remaster is excellent, very clear and dynamic.
Also, the whole album is a masterpiece. Vangelis took a hundred steps from his band's previous album and made one of the best psychedelic album ever existed.
