Notes
First pressings info: It is hard to find a copy that plays without excessive surface noise. This is not necessarily because the vinyl is of poor quality, but because the recording itself had to be mastered very softly (due to its length, dynamic range and stereo separation.)
Elektra had this title pressed in 1967 by three different plants: Allentown (AL), Columbia, Terre Haute (CTH) and Monarch (MON). Each plant was sent a different master lacquer to cut from (rather than a copy of the mastertape which was more common in those days), thus ensuring that all pressings had similar high sound quality.

Show All 169 Reviews- Edited 3 days agoAppears to be imported US labels (from this variant https://www.discogs.com/release/20739832-Love-Forever-Changes) on a Canadian Case and Ampex logo pasted over the US one. Looks super homemade, but seems legit given Elektra did this with US mono covers in Canada for the same release on vinyl.
- Edited 12 days agoDoes anyone have a spare disc 2 they’re willing to part with? Just realized that my copy has two disc 1s. SMH. Please message me if you do.
- Just picked up a used copy for my collection today but it came without an inner sleeve. Any info on what I'm missing? Should it have a paper/poly sleeve...paper sleeve with liner notes...etc?
- Found a gently used copy cheap. Sounds absolutely amazing. The acoustic guitars and strings are just perfect. Long live Arthur Lee and Love. And Chris Bellman.
- Managed to snag a copy for. Music direct after being on back order for ages. This is easily one of the best sounding records I've ever heard. Tunes, silent vinyl, massive trippy soundstage, clarity. Absolutely perfect. 10/10. Easily one of the best Mofi albums I own. Maybe the people is just WOW!
- Just picked this up in HMV on offer, 3 vinyl for £55! Absolute bargain. Had this on CD for years, finally thought I’d fork out for it on vinyl. It is a superb pressing imo, clean, no noise, dynamic, rich, centred, flat…everything you could want…and a stunning album too

Imagine getting side one and side two mixed up! Different record altogether.referencing Forever Changes (LP, Album, Mono) EKL-4013
The epitome of the 60’s psychedelic hippie dream sound. It’s so strangely beautiful, it took me a few listens but then it hit me. Gorgeous guitars, swooping orchestral strings, Tijuana/mariachi inspired horns, lovely harmonies, surreal lyrics, quirky chord changes, crisp production, brilliant songwriting and a folk-rock-pop foundation that anchors this album firmly near the top of the list of the all time greats.- Sounds just as good, while being better than an original Allentown pressing that I have. Channel separation is impeccable. Low end tones in acoustic sections is exceptionally engaging. Dynamic range is far less dramatic than the original, which gets unpleasantly loud in sections, & too quit to hear in others. Very similar in decibel range in terms of where my master volume sits on the original & this remaster, which I’m always appreciative of. It’s very good! Very. Very good. Nice, quiet vinyl as well. EU & US pressings are identical as far as the LP itself is concerned, so whichever one you find for cheaper is the only factor that should decide which one to get. Personally I don’t care about tip on jacket nonsense, but that’s because I have an engaging system.
- I've listened to all Rhino reissues (US & EU) and this is the one I've kept. Whether it's a fold-down Mono or not, this one sounds absolutely fantastic. Trust me, go for this one. It sounds so much better than the stereo cut - on speakers, but especially on headphones. To me, this is the definite version of this record. I won't be looking no further. They should reissue this Mono cut again.
