Easy Star All-Stars – Dub Side Of The Moon

So is there going to be an actual release for the intended black and orange pinwheel version, or do I just say I got this misprint?

Baught this excellent slab of gorgeous green vinyl today. Pancake flat with a lovely clear sound, bass and treble where they should be........ turned it up loud and just sat there listening and grinning. Enough has been said by others about the content, it is a pretty amazing interpretation (of an already brilliant album) done to perfection. This pressing complements it very well.

Mine is the Black/Clear split with Orange splatter. Very unique version of PF’s Dark Side of The Moon, one album many wouldn’t dare touch for fear of trashing it, but this version holds up very well going from Reggae into Drum and Bass and Dub. Content is kick ass (as was the live tours for this). The pressing is solid. Well done and pressed to hold up well sonically. It’s definitely something you’ll want to pick up if you’re a fan of DSOTM and Reggae or both.

Mine came with the download card. How is this pressing different from the following two:

Tons of background noise on this pressing. Not noticeable during 90% of the album but it’s pretty bad during the quiet parts. Even the lead in grove is noticeably noisy.

Same thing happened to me. Hype sticker matched the order (and this version) description, but the vinyl is an orange and black propeller/pinwheel.

If you like Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon and are open to a little irie vibes along side, then you are in for a real treat with this album! Easy Star has done a great job of giving the original a nice reggae twist, while keeping true to the original at the same time. Spin this during your BBQ with friends, while you're cleaning your house or in the background while you're cuddling with your SO, I promise you won't be disappointed!

I've only just discovered this and what an amazing find - i also love dub reggae and Pink Floyd (I suppose a lot of people do) And with Pink Floyd being the act probably most synonymous with chill out all the way back to the playing of Echoes at Spectrum in the London Acid House scene of 1988 (the first chill out room anywhere?).this would seem like a match made in heaven. Sometimes however ideas that look good on paper don't always come off but this most defintely doesn't just work but exceeded my expectations in every way. I also like decent trance and this will be a very different but equally enjoyed relative to my trance versions of DSOTM.

I love Pink Floyd and I love Dub. But i hate cover albums and i don't like most crossover dub productions.

But Easy Star All Stars fixed it and i am listening to this album for more then ten years, flipping it with the original version sometimes. Its interesting to compare those two albums with each other, cause you will see how much space is left in the original production. And Easy Star Allstars used this space to enrich the original tracks with additional voicings, for example the great Ranking Joe toasting on "Time". This is the ultimate fusion of the beloved Pink Floyd style and the wild powerful style of Reggae music.
Its obvious why a lot of people are searching for this record. If you ever come across it - buy it!
