Under the radar release on the vast Soul Note label. I picked it up because I am fans of both of the headliners, even though it's 87. The opening cut sounds like it's pressed on 45 and played on 33. Slow and deep business with a powerful presence.
The full LP leans contemporary but offers a mixed bag, even touching on free jazz on the fourth cut. Track three, Emptiness, is slow and brooding while still remaining loose. Side two is okay, Zen is by far the standout track to me. Keeping for the opening track.
