Gang Of Four – Solid Gold

This is a fantastic pressing. Super quiet and dynamic. No pops.

My pressing is excellent. Not one pop or click, it’s centered and the music is punchy. Highly recommended.

Anyone care to comment on the pressing quality and sound of this?

Update: I wound up getting a copy of this LP, and it's definitely not the quietest brand new record I've ever bought, but the surface noise is not egregious either. So, not terrible, but could be better. It was also cut significantly quieter than my original US pressing. As for sound quality, I need to give it another listen, but my initial impression was that the sound is good.

The track listing on back sleeve and labels is wrong: To Hell With Poverty is the last track on side A and Cheeseburger is the last track on side B. Great sound on this pressing.

My copy: labels same as "unofficial release", but: Matrix / Runout (Runout side A "stamped"): 07460-A1
Matrix / Runout (Runout side B "stamped"): 07460-B1

Noisy vinyl, but the music itself is mastered well. Sounds good when there's music playing.

Not a great pressing by my standards, way more surface noise than you would expect from a brand new record, I will seek out a nice early Japanese or UK pressing.

I can only recommend this Japanese 1981 release.
It presents this essential album with an absolute killer sound.

Anyone know if this is mastered from the analog tapes, like the 2012 reissue OAR 1107 ?

Is it true that this version of the press came with a British pound taped to its backing?
