This seems to be the holy grail for this wonderful music from Bach. Outstanding soloist, choir and orchestra. Very lively recorded and top notch pressed.

A wholly delightful recording of Bach, old style, at its best. The choir is clean-toned and agile, and the soloists impeccable – notably Auger and Schreier. Other notable contributions are from Karl Suske, who plays the violin solos and a cracking trio of trumpeters, led by Ludwig Güttler. A real gem.
