Mine has the same matrix numbers as listed: Matrix / Runout (Label Side A): B - > MRI 069A
Matrix / Runout (Label Side B): B - > MRI 069B
I believe this pressing is the true first pressing before the "Sterling" stampers. Mine sounds AMAZING compared to my Elektra Promo LP and the CD and cassette. The guitar solos are super smooth and not at all harsh (without the excessive mid range tone),.,.very easy on the ears!

Is this reissue of Megaforce presses from the same year? I also have no matrix number. I read somewhere else that this press sounds different than other same years' Megaforce presses whereas the guy who seems to own most of different pressings ranked 1st Megaforce press on 10th and this on 3rd.
Well, regardless I don't have other version to compare to, I like this sound here. It's bit bright but not overly so, guitars are well defined and although not the most powerful, definitely not weak either. Overall soundstage doesn't sound narrow to me, bass is audible, not super powerful but bites just about right on bit higher end. I think it's good sounding version and very enjoyable.
I'd really love to own and listen that one club edition everyone talks about, though.

Question. Sounds of Cliff'em All or Live Metal Up Your Ass demo is not included in this box?

Picked up a copy of this today, and it sounds utterly remarkable. Absolutely superb pressing. If you can find it in good condition, this is a very worthwhile investment.

The '89 Spaceship label is one bad mother cranked to 1:00! Fantastic mastering by Ludwig here. My copy is thin vinyl and not 180g (as the link listed) although zero affect on sound quality.

awesome pressing sound so good when cranked. it has a surprising amount of bass compared to what other people have said. definitely recommend
Great boxset. Has pretty much all you could want from this album. This and ride the lightning are admittedly more sparse in content compared to the following releases, but this is still a great boxset and has really great content. You still get everything that you would get in the other boxsets, just less of it. The best thing is by far the book, this one was a great read about the starting of the band and the making of their first album. Highly recommended!

Dear Cliff,
Please forgive James & especially Lars for turning your once great band into a steaming pile of shit. Without you they lost their way & forgot your teachings.
