One of the best techno hardcore eps ever from the oldskool period of rave music.
"one by one" is a classic rave tune with its stellar production, and the most known sublove track ever.
"maniac music" is a tuff techno track with extraordinary arrangement, and super complexity in its layers that is second to none and breathtaking energy. How i love this track cannot be described.
"drum + bass progamme" is probably my favorite track on this ep. It's a breakbeat hardcore smasher with darkside sound not common for '92 with handmade breaks you wont find elsewere and "frequency- kiss the sky" sample theme during the track, plus manic pitched vocals. This track is timeless.
Finally there is a dj bonus track which is minimal yet very effective deep & dark, early breakbeat tune with a killer bassline.
I challenge everyone if they can find easily a better ep than this one. referencing One By One E.P. (12", EP, 33 ⅓ RPM) EARTHX6T
Some good tunes on here. The Drum + Bass Programme track Top Buzz used in his famous and absolutely killer 91/92 NYE West Point Fantazia set!referencing One By One E.P. (12", EP, 33 ⅓ RPM) EARTHX6T
D.J Bonus seems to feature the same arpeggio violin sounding sample as in Code Red's In Your Dreams/Dreams Forever. Both good dancefloor destroyers nonetheless.referencing One By One E.P. (12", EP, 33 ⅓ RPM) EARTHX6T
When i was starting out doing tracks in early 92, i phoned Earth recordings to see if they were excepting demos and just for a bit of advice really (i was only 15) , one of the sublove lads came on the phone and talked to me, gave me some sound advice, when i got signed i rang them again and they were dead chuffed for me, I was always grateful to them for that, they also sent me a copy of "always on my mind" which is mega rare these days. This was one of the first hardcore vinyl's i bought and will remain one of my favourites.referencing One By One E.P. (12", EP, 33 ⅓ RPM) EARTHX6T
Cant believe there is not a review for this record yet.
Amazing 4 track ep-
The title track 'One by one' is a proper hardcore tune with those sophiticated breaks and blinding synth patterns. The vocal section fits in this track very well. Well ahead of its time a combination of Techno/Hardcore. Amazing track by the Artists better known as 'Way out west' Nick warren & Jody wisternoff.
Maniac music- is also a very complex amalgamation of beats, breaks, samples and synths. This is a very well made track.
Drum n bass- programme is also a very good track with an obscure collection of beats. With the sample 'Drum n bass programme' used in all the right places.
Dj bonus- is to me a fantastic piece of Techno/Hardcore. Has no real vocals apart from 'Come on'. This tune is very well thought out and constructed with simplicity. Several well layered breaks and beats. The bass is something that always makes my ears prick up with that squashed techno bass rolling in all the right points.
On a whole this EP is very very good and was played loads back in 92. Definately worth a purchase for any hardcore lover. Expect to pay no less than £20-30 for a good copy.
